The Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada ( PDAC ) is a non-profit organisation based in North America boasting more than 8,000 members . The 2019 edition of its annual convention in Toronto attracted more than 25,000 attendees from 135 countries to debate the future of the sector . Attendees got the the opportunity to meet with over 1000 exhibitors , many offering a hands-on approach to learning about the latest technologies . PDAC pledges to encourage sustainable and responsible growth in the global mining industry , while it was the first industry association in the world to develop detailed guidance for companies on how to explore responsibly .
