It ' s hard to say what the next 12 months have in store for the mining industry , particularly in a time of COVID-19 , the energy transition and supply chain challenges .

But it ' s clear from talking to industry leaders , such as Jim North at Ferrexpo , decarbonisation and autonomy will be priorities for mining companies as the push for sustainability and technological efficiency intensifies .

For those fearful that technology will replace jobs , it was interesting to hear how Ferrexpo employs 12 ' autonomous road builders ' which map out routes .
